Andrews & Co. is pleased to have helped Tracey Stratton in her annual walk for ALS. Tracey was joined by Lisa Mallet and a passionate community to challenge this devastating disease.

Tracey raised a total of $3,830. Congratulations on a fantastic job!

This March marked the fifth anniversary of the passing of our partner Andy Foreman.  Andy struggled with ALS and ultimately lost the fight as do so many others afflicted by this terrible disease.

Tracey Stratton, one of the firm’s managers, will be participating in the Ottawa Walk for ALS which takes place on June 10^th.  Walking with Tracey will be Andy’s wife and other members of his family.  She has set herself a goal of raising $3,000 to try and beat last years $2,845.01.  If you feel called to make a donation the details can be found in this link.

Andrews & Co is proud to announce that the expansion to our building is now fully complete!  At approximately 4,200 sq/ft, the multi-floor addition houses multiple offices and modern staff workstations.  On the second floor, there is a full kitchen with window seating and other notable staff amenities that will help accommodate future growth of our firm.  The original structure and it’s interior furniture and fixtures were matched to create a seamless transition between the old and the new.  Please feel free to stop by and get the tour!  In the mean-time, please check out the photo’s below.

Our office will be closed during the holiday season starting at noon on December 23rd and reopening on January 4th, 2017.  On behalf of the Andrews team we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

Over the past couple weeks, our staff have been generously contributing to the Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain campaign.

This year, staff went above and beyond to help make to total donation by the firm the biggest one yet!

We are proud of the generosity shown by our staff and are looking forward to surpassing it next year.

Staff and partners from Andrews & Co were pleased to attend the 2016 Nexia Canada Conference on November 7^th.

This year’s conference, which was hosted by Zeifmans LLP in Toronto, saw representatives from all across Canada come together and not only take part in tax and accounting sessions, but also to network with other accounting firms and share their own insights.

The 2017 Canadian Conference location has yet to be released, but we are already looking forward to attending!

Trick-or-treat yourself for the remainder of October by stopping by Andrews & Co to pick up a Halloween gift basket!

These baskets are filled with both tricks and treats and are great for children of all ages – they also include an excellent bag that can be used for trick-or-treating on Halloween night! Stop by and see our ghoulish bunch to collect your basket – hurry while supplies last!

Andrews and Co is pleased to congratulate Anik Audet on becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant.

After obtaining an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa, Anik Joined Andrews in 2012.  As part of the Andrews team, Anik is committed to providing a full range of accounting services, while championing the firms philosophy of building lasting relationships with our clients.

Due to construction in the area, Taylor Creek Drive between Lacolle Way and Trim Road will be closed from Monday, September 26th until approximately September 30th / October 4th pending weather etc.

Traffic is to be diverted to St. Joseph Blvd detouring to Trim Road. Please follow detour signs accordingly.

The Canada Army Run, which celebrated its 9^th year on Sunday, September 18, 2016, offers both a half marathon and 5K race option. This year, more than 23,000 participants took part and raced alongside Canadian Armed Forces personnel and soldiers.

Despite the humid temperatures, two staff members conquered through one of the toughest races they have run and made excellent times. Mayra Petit finished in 2 hours and 9 minutes and Phil Hunter finished in 2 hours and 8 minutes. Both had a great experience and were cheered on by the immense support by the City of Ottawa and spectators.

Mayra and Phil will also be running in the 10K Resolution Run on December 31, 2016 – join us in wishing them luck!

Andrews & Co would like to wish two staff accountants the best of luck as they write the Common Final Exam (CFE).

Tomorrow Lauren Sels and Lee-Ann Parent will begin a three day examination as the final part of their CPA testing stream. Join us in wishing them good luck!

This year the public practice staff decided to get away from the office and head across the Ottawa River to the Fairmont le Chateau Montebello for a two day staff planning retreat.

Activities and events like these help generate new ideas and success strategies that help fuel employee growth.   By forming genuine collaborative relationships, partners, managers and staff are able to openly discuss future plans for themselves and the firm.

The retreat was a positive experience for all and staff are now looking forward to the annual golf tournament this Friday at the Outaouais Golf Club.

Considerable progress has been made on the building expansion.

The outside walls and roof are almost complete.

Everyday operations at the office have not been impacted by this renovation as it is only involving the rear portion of the building.

August is ALS awareness month at Andrews & Co.!

Throughout the month leading up to our annual staff golf tournament – The Foreman Cup; staff will be participating in a variety of activities in order to raise funds for the ALS Foundation in memory of our late partner Andrew S. Foreman.

The first fundraising activity starts this week with Jean Day.

Keep an eye out for our activity and fundraising updates throughout the month!

We hope to surpass our fundraising goal as we did last year!

Andrews & Co is pleased to announce the official opening of the new footbridge on the 2nd hole at Camelot Golf and Country Club.

To commemorate  the life of our partner Andrew S. Foreman, a beautifully engraved stone was installed on the bridge.  The opening of the bridge coincides with the 25th anniversary of this wonderful course.
